Meet the Imaging System with X-Ray Vision

Often called a “cat scan,” Computed Tomography (CT) is a non-invasive medical test used to look at the lungs, bones, soft tissues and/or blood vessels. CT uses an x-ray tube that rotates 360º around the area being scanned, capturing multiple pictures – or “slices” – as it goes. The anatomical information is sent directly to a

computer, where sophisticated software combines the images to create a nearly 3-D composite image of the organ, bone or object. The image is then available for immediate storage and rapid sharing with your doctor, and hard copy images are created for review by your doctor and your Board Certified Radiology Associates Imaging radiologist.

Radiology Associates Imaging uses the most advanced helical CT, which takes more pictures at a faster speed than conventional CT, enabling it to catch small lesions that may otherwise go undetected.

CT Scanning is effective in identifying issues within the chest, heart, abdomen, head and limbs, and for detecting certain cancers, like colon and lung. A recent government study showed that heavy smokers may reduce their risk of death from lung cancer by 20% simply by having an annual CT scan. CT also assists with cancer treatment staging and monitoring, making it one of the most powerful allies against disease.

When it Comes to a Radiologic Test or Procedure, Quality Matters

By - General Imaging Services

The quality of your medical care is of utmost importance, and that extends to the radiology practice you or your doctor chooses to perform your diagnostic test.

State-of-the-art technologies and equipment – Radiology Associates Imaging continually investigates and adopts the most advanced diagnostic and therapeutictechnologies available. From 3D mammography™ examinations to ultra-high-field, open-bore MRI, to 64-slice helical CT, we offer some of the safest and most accurate systems ever created. Our focus is on the future so we’re never behind the curve of technological discoveries and breakthroughs. When it comes to elements of vital importance like the early discovery of disease, technological progress can make all the difference.

Board certified doctors who sub-specialize – Our team of radiologists is composed of licensed physicians who have completed four years of medical school, at least a year of internship and four years of residency in general radiology and sub-specialty fellowship training. Our radiologists have the education and skill to work directly with neurologists and surgeons to help plan – and even perform – specific treatments.

Highly trained technologists – RAI’s team of radiologic technologists is trained and experienced in an array of diagnostic imaging procedures and therapeutic radiation treatments. Each technologist possesses at least two to four years of fundamental education in anatomy, equipment use, patient positioning and comfort, and radiation and other safety protocols. All have passed a national exam certifying his or her qualifications, and receive ongoing education to ensure the highest degree of image quality, accuracy and safety.

ACR Accreditation – RAI maintains continuing accreditation in key diagnostic services, including Positron Emission Tomography (PET), Nuclear Medicine, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Computed Tomography (CT), and Stereotactic Breast Biopsy from the American College of Radiology, so you can feel confident regarding the safety and accuracy of your care.

When you consider getting a diagnostic scan , look to Radiology Associates Imaging for the latest technologies, caring, experienced doctors, highly-trained technologists and an extensive line of services designed to provide incomparable medical care.
