Demand for imaging studies to facilitate the diagnosis and treatment-staging of disease continues to grow at a breakneck pace. To address the current shortage of radiologists in the region, Radiology Associates is growing its team of doctors with the addition of Elizabeth Hevert, MD.
Dr. Hevert graduated from Pepperdine University with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. She went on to Florida Atlantic University, where she earned a master’s degree in biomedical science. She received her medical degree from University of Miami Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine, and served an internship in internal medicine at University of Miami Miller School of Medicine’s Palm Beach campus, garnering its 2013 Intern of the Year award.
Dr. Hevert served a residency in diagnostic radiology at UM’s Jackson Memorial Hospital, where she won the Interventional Radiology Resident of the Year award three years in a row, 2015-2017. She also garnered the 2015 Thoracic Radiology Resident of the Year award.
Dr. Hevert achieved a fellowship in interventional radiology from Massachusetts General Hospital. She has published and contributed to an extensive list of research papers regarding interventional therapies to treat and manage cancer, among others. An advocate of community service, Dr. Hevert has contributed to various organizations, including Big Brothers Big Sisters of Miami, the Department of Community Services and other outreach facilities.
As an Interventional Radiologist, Dr. Hevert will join Radiology Associates’ team performing minimally invasive, image-guided procedures including catheter placement, stenting and angioplasty, tumor embolization, biopsy, spinal pain injections and other nonsurgical treatments.
